As you may know, if you have been following any news related to artificial intelligence (AI), chatbots, or technology, ChatGPT is making a lot of people curious. This is an AI-based chatbot developed by OpenAI and it launched very late in 2022. It answers questions and can even help you write an essay or article if you ask it based on pretty much any topic you want covered.

However, despite being able to quickly answer questions, write outlines for essays and even entire essays based on a prompt, it does not have access to every database and the World Wide Web as a whole within its fingertips on demand, but relies on already inputted databases into it from what I understand. According to a Scribbr FAQ, the data that it gets its information from was only updated to 2021. It uses sources such as Wikipedia, scientific journals and books.
Despite this, I tried to see if it would somehow analyze this website or give me pointers on how to get more views, besides me going back to all the posts and inputting SEO keywords, adding alt image tags and doing basic SEO, which I do not feel like doing because the aim of this site is mostly just to showcase my skills, but not to earn any sort of profit. I use it as a portfolio site or something akin to a resume, but a resume much deeper than a few pages long that also has my thoughts and other things I post about here from time to time.
Before I go into my experiment, I also want to point out for those new to ChatGPT or AI-based chatbots, how ChatGPT works. It is based It is based on large language models, as this analysis here by Kurt Muehmel points out. It enables users to refine and steer a conversation with the AI chatbot towards a desired length, format, style, level of detail, and language. This again includes being able to write essays or give tips for writers, such as myself, on how to structure an article.
”What makes LLMs impressive is their ability to generate human-like text in almost any language (including coding languages). These models are a true innovation — nothing like them has existed in the past,” Muehmel says.
He goes on to explain that. large language model is a type of neural network. If you have studied AI algorithms at all or what underlies AI and makes it a unique revolution in tech, then you may have heard this term before. it refers to a learning system that can analyze its mistakes or shortcomings and improve upon them in the long term.
”A neural network is a method in artificial intelligence that teaches computers to process data in a way that is inspired by the human brain,” according to an Amazon Web Services description. “It is a type of machine learning process, called deep learning, that uses interconnected nodes or neurons in a layered structure that resembles the human brain. It creates an adaptive system that computers use to learn from their mistakes and improve continuously. ”
Basically, large language models, which ChatGPT utilizes for its information processing and data it relies on in answering questions, allow it to learn over time and improve.
The aim of my experiment in interacting with ChatGPT was to see if it would give me any tips on the purpose of a website, such as this, and to give me tips on what to work on it farther. With all of that said, here is a recent experiment I conducted asking it questions related to this website or my work on it and to give me tips going forward.
I first asked ChatGPT to describe this website and it answered as following:
“I can’t browse the web, so I can’t describe your website. However, if you provide some details about it, like its purpose, content, or design, I can help you describe it based on that information.”
I then mentioned that its purpose is to find job opportunities and showcase my skills as a writer and multimedia content producer. This is what it produced and seems like a good highlight for what to put say on LinkedIn or in a cover letter potentially:
“Your website, http://www.maciejduraj.com, serves as a platform to highlight your skills as a writer and multimedia content producer while also functioning as a hub for exploring job opportunities. It likely features a portfolio showcasing your writing samples, multimedia projects, and possibly a blog or updates section where you share industry insights or discuss relevant topics. The design may be professional yet visually engaging to capture the attention of potential employers or clients. Overall, it aims to effectively communicate your expertise and attract opportunities in your field.”
I redid the same quesitons or asked them the same way but used https:// instead of just www. when linking my site. Not sure if that mattered or not, but this was the last answer I got:

“Your website sounds like a valuable tool for both job hunting and showcasing your talents. It likely includes sections highlighting your writing portfolio, multimedia projects you’ve produced, and perhaps a blog or resume section detailing your professional experience. The design may prioritize simplicity and professionalism to appeal to potential employers or clients. How’s the feedback been so far?”
I then asked it, “give me tips on how to improve it?”nI got a long list of answers or tips back as the reply:
“Here are some tips to enhance your website:
- Clear Navigation: Ensure easy navigation so visitors can quickly find your portfolio, resume, blog, and contact information.
- Portfolio Showcase: Showcase your best writing samples and multimedia projects prominently. Consider categorizing them for easy browsing.
- Visual Appeal: Use high-quality images and multimedia elements to make your website visually engaging. A clean and modern design can leave a positive impression.
- Mobile Optimization: Ensure your website is mobile-friendly since many visitors will access it from smartphones or tablets.
- Testimonials or Recommendations: Include testimonials from clients or colleagues to build trust and credibility.

- Feedback Mechanism: Add a feedback form or survey to gather input from visitors on how to further improve your website.
Regularly reviewing and updating your website ensures it continues to effectively represent your skills and attract job opportunities.”
I then asked:
“What sort of websites work well in attracting employers?”
ChatGPT gave me this answer:
“Websites that work well in attracting employers often have the following characteristics:
- Professional Portfolio: Clearly showcase your work, including writing samples, multimedia projects, and any other relevant achievements.
- Personal Branding: Create a consistent and professional brand image across your website and social media profiles.
- Clear Contact Information: Make it easy for employers to reach out to you by including your contact information or a contact form.
- Testimonials or Recommendations: Feature testimonials from previous employers or clients to build credibility and trust.

- Engagement Opportunities: Include interactive elements like contact forms, polls, or surveys to encourage visitor engagement.
By incorporating these elements into your website, you can effectively attract employers and showcase your skills and experience in a compelling way.”

Finally I asked:
“Should a multimedia content producer specialize in one niche?”
The answer I got was:
“Specializing in one niche as a multimedia content producer can have both advantages and disadvantages. Here are some considerations:
Advantages:
- Expertise: Specializing allows you to become an expert in a particular field, which can attract clients or employers seeking specific skills.
- Targeted Audience: Focusing on a niche enables you to tailor your content to a specific audience, making it more relevant and appealing.
- Competitive Advantage: Specialization can set you apart from generalists and help you stand out in a crowded market.
- Networking Opportunities: By focusing on one niche, you can build a strong network within that industry and establish yourself as a go-to expert.
Disadvantages:
- Limited Opportunities: Specializing too narrowly may limit your opportunities for work, especially if the niche is small or not in high demand.
- Market Changes: Niche markets can be volatile, and trends may shift, affecting demand for your services.
- Diversification Challenges: Relying solely on one niche may make it difficult to diversify your income streams or adapt to changing market conditions.
- Skill Development: Specializing may limit your opportunities to develop new skills or explore different creative avenues.
Ultimately, whether to specialize in one niche depends on your interests, skills, market demand, and career goals. Some multimedia content producers thrive by focusing on a niche, while others prefer to maintain a broader range of expertise. It’s essential to weigh the pros and cons and choose the approach that aligns best with your professional aspirations.
Save your chat history, share chats, and personalize your experience.”
I then asked: “Can you tell me how to create a portfolio website?” and this was the answer I got back:
“Certainly! Here’s a step-by-step guide to create a portfolio website:
- Define Your Goals: Determine the purpose of your portfolio website. Are you showcasing your writing, multimedia projects, design work, or a combination?
- Choose a Platform: Decide whether you want to build your website from scratch using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, or use a website builder platform like WordPress, Wix, Squarespace, or Weebly.
- Select a Domain Name: Choose a domain name that reflects your name or profession. Ensure it’s memorable, easy to spell, and relevant to your portfolio.
- Choose a Web Hosting Provider: If you’re not using a website builder platform, you’ll need to choose a web hosting provider to host your website files.
- Design Your Website: Design a clean and visually appealing layout for your portfolio website. Consider using a minimalist design that puts the focus on your work. Include sections such as:
- Home: Introduction and overview of your portfolio.
- About Me: Brief bio or introduction about yourself.
- Portfolio: Showcase your work, categorized if necessary.
- Resume/CV: Include your professional experience, education, skills, and contact information.
- Blog (optional): Share industry insights, tips, or updates.
- Contact: Provide a way for visitors to get in touch with you.
- Create Content: Gather and organize your work samples, writing samples, multimedia projects, and other relevant content for your portfolio.
- Optimize for SEO: Use relevant keywords in your content and metadata to improve your website’s visibility in search engine results.
- Test and Review: Test your website across different devices and browsers to ensure compatibility and responsiveness. Review for any errors or typos.
- Launch Your Website: Once you’re satisfied with your portfolio website, launch it by connecting your domain name and publishing your content.
- Promote Your Website: Share your portfolio website on social media, professional networking sites, and with potential clients or employers to increase visibility and attract opportunities.
Remember to regularly update your portfolio with new work samples and keep your content fresh to showcase your latest achievements and skills.”
I then asked is starting a business more difficult in poland or the United States and this was the answer:
“Starting a business can present unique challenges in both Poland and the United States, and the difficulty can vary depending on factors such as regulations, market conditions, access to funding, and cultural considerations. Here’s a brief comparison:
Poland:

- Advantages: Poland offers a relatively low cost of living and operating expenses compared to some Western countries. There are also government incentives and support programs for entrepreneurs and startups.
- Challenges: Starting a business in Poland may involve navigating bureaucratic processes, complex regulations, and bureaucratic hurdles. Access to funding and venture capital can be more limited compared to more established startup ecosystems.
United States:
- Advantages: The United States has a large and diverse market, access to abundant funding and venture capital, a well-developed infrastructure, and a culture that celebrates entrepreneurship.
- Challenges: While the U.S. offers numerous opportunities, competition can be fierce, especially in tech hubs like Silicon Valley. There are also regulatory requirements at the federal, state, and local levels that businesses need to navigate. Additionally, the cost of living and operating expenses can be high in certain areas.
Ultimately, the difficulty of starting a business in Poland or the United States depends on various factors, including your industry, business model, resources, and willingness to navigate challenges. Both countries offer opportunities for entrepreneurs, but the specific challenges and advantages will differ.”
I ran the original two questions again just to make sure or to see if it answers the same based on the URL of a site you give for it to describe or it just varies every time. This was the answer this time to the repeated question: “Its purpose is to find job opportunities and showcase my skills as a writer, designer and multimedia content producer”:
“Your website, http://www.maciejduraj.com, serves as a platform for showcasing your skills as a writer and multimedia content producer while also providing a hub for job opportunities. It likely features your portfolio, writing samples, multimedia projects, and perhaps a blog or testimonials section to highlight your expertise and experience. Additionally, it may include a section for potential employers to contact you or inquire about collaboration opportunities.”
This was the previous reply to the same question and url:
“Your website, http://www.maciejduraj.com, serves as a platform to highlight your skills as a writer and multimedia content producer while also functioning as a hub for exploring job opportunities. It likely features a portfolio showcasing your writing samples, multimedia projects, and possibly a blog or updates section where you share industry insights or discuss relevant topics. The design may be professional yet visually engaging to capture the attention of potential employers or clients. Overall, it aims to effectively communicate your expertise and attract opportunities in your field”
As you see it varied slightly each time and it gave different answers, which is very interesting to me as this is more akin to speaking to a human than a machine. If you ask a person a question they may answer it one day this way or another day a different way depending on how they are feeling. A machine or computer system usually relies on the same information stored within it to answer in the exact same way it was programmed to. ChatGPT is different. Again, this is the AI revolution we are living in and it is changing the way we interact with software or technology.

To Sum it Up…
ChatGPT is great and should only improve over time. It is also one of only many AI tools currently really making headlines and turning heads all the way from the person just browsing the Web and stumbling upon it to ask it basic questions to CEOs of the top companies being able to utilize it for their use. AI will only continue to be used to augment a wide range of industries. It is even possible to create a virtual online girlfriend based on AI these days, so there really is no limit it seems. One thing is for sure, we are living in interesting times.
Please also check out a previous story or article I posted here on how Ai is revolutionizing everything. Also, check out my AI infographic I created form my won research, analysis and visual assets. The header image within this blog post or analysis, by the way, is also mine and is an abstract concept of AI to me as it is supposed to show an overall brain separated by nodes or thinking heads as part of it. I also inputted it into the infographic. Nowadays AI is even creating custom visuals or graphics, but human creativity is still something to be cherished in my opinion.
By the way, to potential U.S.-based companies or those wanting to enter the U.S. market, you may have noticed that I changed my original title of this blog post from “Playing around with ChatGPT” to “Messing Around with ChatGPT” as I know U.S. English at a native level or like the back of my hand, as the saying goes. This phrase, “messing round,” is not really common or at least I never heard it used in British English. However, it has almost a comedic value to it because those who are really native speakers in U.S. slang and colloquialisms will know that it has a sexual overtone to it or can be used this way. However, it is used in a variety of ways such as me for the header now of this blog post and is not indecent as a phrase overall.
This is another example of what I can provide to companies looking to expand to the U.S. audience or resonate there: catchphrases, colloquialisms and sayings common with only U.S. audiences and not necessarily British. Especially things to resonate with Silicon Valley as my English is pure Californian — including slangs and anything. That is hard to find here in Europe as most people only know British English here. This can really resonate with the U.S. audience and make a huge difference in that market if a company wants to find success there.
It is also something that I do not think ChatGPT can do yet, unless you specifically ask it to, but I am not even sure then it would follow a specific language pattern or town with its answers. I am also doubtful, but also am not sure, whether it is possible to ask it to answer questions or write essays while adding specific cic colloquialisms or say comedy within its language pattern as it writes or outputs answers. To me, it still reads a bit robotic or artificial vs. the way a good human writer sets the tone of voice. ChatGPT is good for outlining a story and even writing a first draft. But I think to make it truly resonate with a particular audience, a human editor and writer is needed to be there as well.
After I wrote this blog post or feature analysis on ChatGPT, I read a report by The Verge that a controversy is ensuing related to some sort of voice implementation of the AI chatbot with regard to Scarlett Johansson’s voice. Apparently she turned down a request to have her voice used for it, but the one used now is still similar. I have not tried or heard of any voice implementation it offers and this may be further worth checking out or exploring in the near future.
I also realized various implementations of ChatGPT exist and it seems the mobile apps offer voice. I simply used the free web version of the AI assistant on my iPad’s browser available at https://chatgpt.com/.
