Art & Illustrations

Here are some of my artwork using charcoal, soft pastels, and some hard pastels for shading, along with a bit of oil pastels here and there for good measure. Most of this is done on large pastel paper (by large I mean 12″ by 16″). You will also find my digital illustration samples and pixel art I created showcased here.

I have various hobbies like medieval history, fantasy novels and RPG video games and films like Kingdom of Heaven. I also have various interests ranging from martial arts to tech, sci-fi, fantasy and history.

Many of the images below have one version that I originally created using pastels, paper or traditional art and the version below was inputed to my iPad via me taking photo of it and later also on the iPad digitalized. Also keep in mind I had to save them at low resolutions in order to avoid the pages like this loading too long as I have many samples I like to share.

The Wanderer

More examples below of this idea of a main hero character going forward into some mysterious or unknown place:

Meanwhile, here is virtually every version of all my fantasy artwork I have created thus far:

Warriors in Cave (two slightly different versions):

A Trip to Croatia

More versions below of this piece related to my trip to Croatia:

(Pastel work below)

Duck Flies Nearby Bear

The Wild West

The Hooligan

A Battle Begins

(Digital Work mostly done on the iPad below)

Warrior Finds Wizard in Cave

You will find more of these (or variants) wizard and warrior in cave samples below:

Horse Rider

Fantasy landscape

Warriors Find Crystal/Portal:

(This is a work in progress I recently found and added some sharpness and color to that I still have to go back into in order to finish properly)

Traveling Swordsman Finds Refuge

Similar theme (more samples below):

Landscape with a the mountain-like object in the middle being like a fort of sorts, or a tower of natural topography, that was terraformed by humans to form a hideout:

Some other castles and structures I created/had drawn:

A digital on iPad drawing turned vector as I imported it with trace Into Illustrator and worked on it farther later on by adding colors:

This was originally an idea I had while working as a marketing leader for a company called Invoice Ocean and also later used it as one of the logos or top feature images on my other site https://theartisticcounterculture.weebly.com/

The Dentist’s Seat:

I have different versions of these female figures way below including versions done in vector on Illustrator. The idea was to show powerful female roles in work or sports as in female empowerment:

A cover art idea of a fantasy or role playing game or say cd cover or menu screen:

Vectorized version:

Done all in Illustrator working the vanishing point perspective:

This one below I drew on my iPad digitally using raster, but later ran that version through Illustrator while vectorizing the image using the Trace option. However I exported it out when I saved it:

Here are the original versions redesigned to be more realistic or the ground to be more flat:

Warriors Find Portal:

Warriors Find Crystal:

Vector version:

Much earlier versions with a single warrior that started as a pencil and pastel drawing I did. I added some graphic to these versions:

This started out as a hand-drawn (of course by me like all the work here) work using a mix of hard and soft pastels ( the fabric on top of the wooden post on midnight I did with oil pastels), but I digitalized it, changed aspects of it and now it has like an old-school dot matrix or ZX Spectrum style:. Notice the sun rays I’fe added to the two versions below:

Digitalized versions with things added or changed like sun rays:

Water boat in Croatia depicted by me drawing it while on a trip there:

Other medieval or fantasy style depictions:

Below are some individual samples below consisting mostly of either pencil, soft pastels, oil pastels or charcoal:

Mostly soft pastels with oil for the wand and later added some thing digitally like the wizard’s beard – a newer revision pr three versions of it pure digtised are on top but this one below was originally done in pastels by me:

Original and pure pastel version I drew:

This one was done in pure oil pastels with slight enhancements digitally like the sword reflection:

Also done in oil pastels with some digital fixes:

Mix media medieval and mostly fantasy artwork mix:

Made the bird a more realistic size digitally:

Mix oil pastels with soft pastels below with some charcoal. Maybe the angle of the castle or city outskirts wall was too much in the hand-drawn original I did, so I change dit digitally for the second and bottom version among some other things:

Mixed media and mostly pencil work

The hussar horse rider:

Some gaming level design style:

Although the purely water color version above is interesting and makes you think, I realize the side bear is impossible in reality or is pure al abstract interpretation, thus I digitalized it for a more realistic gaming look below:

Fixed the slightly bent katana and added a perspective blur:

These versions are the original hand-drawn work from the digitized versions on top:

Even thought I have the image second below above, I wanted to include the transition how I fixed the original hand drawing and digitized it below:
